ABOUT THE PRACTIONER

Doing things differently
I was first introduced to acupuncture through my surgeon back in 2016, which was an incredible asset in my pre and post-op recovery. The speed of my recovery and rate of healing afterward introduced me to the incredible nature of this medicine. Not only did it help with my surgery but it had a profound effect on the chronic illness that I was being treated for. I learned that many illnesses could be avoided just by incorporating the philosophy of Chinese medicine into my daily life. It offered options I had never seen before after 17 years in the field as an ER nurse. I was hooked and decided to dedicate the rest of my life to learning about it.

I Graduated from OCOM in 2021 with my master’s degree in Chinese medicine. Upon graduation, I had the honor of working as a licensed acupuncturist with one of my favorite professors and worked and studied Chinese medicine alongside her. My passions grew to encompass Japanese-style acupuncture, trauma-informed care, nervous system regulation, and herbal prescriptions. I will be completing my doctorate track next spring, while continually working on classes and workshops, and deepening my work with mentorships.

I want to see healthcare systems that put the patient first. The current systems in place often put profit above the patient and interventions are provided based on very rigid requirements that don't always match the person's desired outcomes or needs. I don't want the quality of my treatments to be dictated by insurance companies' reimbursement and loopholes so I avoid working with them. I am working to find affordable and sustainable ways to support my community.

I seek to provide a space that offers healing, care, understanding, and wisdom. An approach to acupuncture that considers the whole person, and allows you to feel seen and understood. By bridging my experience within the healthcare field, as a nurse, with my comprehensive training as an acupuncturist I seek to approach your concerns with a holistic understanding that considers your unique needs, and desires, and addresses your healing with these needs in mind. A listening ear and ally that is on your side.

Outside of the office, you can find me in nature with my partner and friends as much as possible. Hiking, backpacking, surfing, and gardening are some of my favorite ways to do that. I also try to dance, read, meditate, practice qigong, and do yoga often to invest in my well-being and resiliency to be able to leave a positive impact in the world around me. I am continually humbled, grown, and stretched by my own, ongoing healing journey.

ABOUT THE PRACTICE

More than a space
People's experience with acupuncture differs greatly, as well as their comfort with it. In addition to the specialties, which I list below, I also seek to provide acupuncture via a trauma-informed lens.

This means that my treatment structure is vastly different than other practioniors you will encounter, as it seeks to listen deeply to your body, your nervous system and the speed of treatment you desire.

Being trauma informed to me is more than just a descriptive word that I use to talk about my practice, it's an embodied value that permeates the essence of the presence I seek to be within my capacity as a healer.

And it is from this identity that I seek to move in a way that is supportive to you, your process, and your journey in healing.
